Rating An Evening With Silk Sonic

Image
Silk Sonic 10) Silk Sonic intro I wish this song was longer but it’s only the intro and does what it intends to, it establishes the tone of the album perfectly. 9) Put on a smile Out of all the full songs from the album this is my least favourite however, Bruno and Anderson’s voice are immaculate. 8) After last night This funky tune is a great listen, especially at night. Catchy chorus, good vibes, good listen. 7) Blast off The closing song for the album which makes you feel as if you are floating through space. This song definitely grew on me as I re-listened to the album a few times. Great tune. 6) Skate The second single for the album. Great song but I think fly as me would have been a better choice for a single. “You smell better than a BBQ” is a personal favourite lyric of mine. 5) Smokin out the window Last single for the album, groovy song, funny lyrics, good vibes. 4) Leave the door open This is the lead single for the album which blew up. Incredible...

Rating Hugo by Loyle Carner

Hugo 10) Georgetown Interesting pick for the second single for the album in my opinion. I like his flow, but I am not a fan of the instrumental, it gets repetitive. 9) Blood on my Nikes I like the context of this song as it discusses the knife crime epidemic within the UK however, as a song it will have to grow on me. 8) Speed of plight Good song, Loyle Carner definitely feels in his element as it’s clear to hear however, this is a reoccurring theme throughout the album so would have been nice to hear him step out of his comfort zone more. 7) Nobody knows The last single for the album, very similar vibes to isle of Arran which is a banger. It’s not quite as good but still amazing. 6) HGU Great song to close the album, love the off-beat drums throughout the song and the passion in the vocals. Drumming was on point in this album. 5) A lasting place Such a vibe! Would be higher on my list if the audio clip was took out the song to be honest. Only downside of the al...

Being funny in a foreign language 11) About you This one will definitely have to grow on me. After first listen it hasn’t quite connected with me but not all of their songs typically do after first listen. 10) The 1975 The bands best intro song to an album yet! It sets the album up perfectly with hints as what is to come specifically, Matty’s experimental vocals which is a reoccurring theme throughout the album. 9) Part of the band I was confused as to why this was the lead single for the album. I get it now. Probably Matty’s best lyrics on the album. Unique song! 8) Human too Another song showcasing Matty’s improved singing ability which I have really noticed throughout this album. Another great song will probably be higher on my list after a couple more listens. 7) When we are together Another great outro song to a great album. “Central Park is SeaWorld for trees” is a personal favourite lyric from this song. Gives me birthday party vibes. 6) Wintering What sounds like Matty making a...

Rating Harry's house by Harry Styles

Harry’s house 13) Love of my life This song closes off the album and out of his 3 albums I think this outro song is his worst. 12) Boyfriends I enjoy the meaning behind the song as it discusses how partners within a relationship mistreat each other but I don’t enjoy the song. 11) Matilda Even though this is one of his most streamed songs from the album personally for me I don’t connect with it. 10) Grapejuice When I listen to the album I won’t skip it, but I am not going to rave about it. 9) Music for a sushi restaurant This intro song to the album creates a fun atmosphere that makes you want to bop your head to. 8) Daydreaming I think daydreaming and music for a sushi restaurant have a similar vibe however, this song just edges it for me. 7) Keep driving This is not a standout song on the album by any means but it’s a good listen for a late-night drive. 6) Late night talking This is a fun song with a catchy chorus. Let’s just leave it at that. 5) ...

Rating The 1975 self-titled album

The list 16) An encounter This lyric less, ambient song creates an atmospheric mood from start to finish. 15) The 1975 This intro song sets the tone for the album and prepares you for what is to come. 14) Talk! Matty Healy said this song contains the best lyrics off this album, however, is a lesser favourite of mine. 13) The city This song used to be much higher on my list however has dropped off overtime. 12) Is there somebody who can watch you? Matty’s most personal lyrics within the album. Beautiful sounding song accompanied by piano to close off the album. 11) 12 To me this song does what an encounter tries to do but better. Beautiful! 10) M.O.N.E.Y This song is like marmite, you either love it or hate it. I love it! 9) Pressure Great song but I do think this song sounds better live due to mainly the saxophone player. 8) Girls Just like the city, this song used to be higher on my list. Great song, nonetheless.   7) Heart out The repeated vocals throughout the chorus do wonders ...
