Rating The 1975 self-titled album

The list

16) An encounter

This lyric less, ambient song creates an atmospheric mood from start to finish.

15) The 1975

This intro song sets the tone for the album and prepares you for what is to come.

14) Talk!

Matty Healy said this song contains the best lyrics off this album, however, is a lesser favourite of mine.

13) The city

This song used to be much higher on my list however has dropped off overtime.

12) Is there somebody who can watch you?

Matty’s most personal lyrics within the album. Beautiful sounding song accompanied by piano to close off the album.

11) 12

To me this song does what an encounter tries to do but better. Beautiful!

10) M.O.N.E.Y

This song is like marmite, you either love it or hate it. I love it!

9) Pressure

Great song but I do think this song sounds better live due to mainly the saxophone player.

8) Girls

Just like the city, this song used to be higher on my list. Great song, nonetheless.

7) Heart out

The repeated vocals throughout the chorus do wonders for this song by creating a catchy hook.

6) Settle down

This song creates an upbeat feel throughout the tune and makes you feel good when listening to it.

5) She way out

Probably the 1975’s most head bop worthy song on the album, never fails to put you in a good mood.

4) Chocolate

Probably the 1975’s most iconic song. Even my mum likes it, that’s how good it is.

3) Menswear

A personal favourite of mine, I like the lyrics, it’s chill, it’s a bit of me.

2) Sex

This was my favourite song of theirs for the longest time however, another just tops it.

1) Robbers

Just an absolute masterpiece of a song! Nothing more to say.
